Wood Mouldings are a finishing profile that is milled from a solid piece of hardwood that is available in various dimensions.

As finishing profiles mouldings are available as Ramp Bars, T-Bars, Wood to Carpet Bar, Square Edge Profile, Stair Noses, Scotia and Quadrant.

What is a Ramp Bar?

Ramp Bars are a threshold strip that is installed at the bottom of the doorway (aka doorsill) which provides a smooth and clean transition from higher smooth surface to a lower smooth floor between two different areas of different floor covering heights.

Ramp Bars are also known as ‘wood to smooth’ or ‘reducer profiles’, all these type of profiles are classed as Mouldings.

What is a Scotia?

Scotia is a finishing strip that is installed at edge of an installed floor where it meets an upright surface like skirting

The general use of scotia is applied to cover the expansion gap that is left between the hardwood floor and the skirting/upright surface.

Scotia is also known as ‘Beading’, all these type of profiles are classed as Mouldings.

What is a Flat Bead?

Flat Bead is a finishing strip that is installed at edge of an installed floor where it meets an upright surface like skirting
