What is a Ramp Bar?

Ramp Bars are a threshold strip that is installed at the bottom of the doorway (aka doorsill) which provides a smooth and clean transition from higher smooth surface to a lower smooth floor between two different areas of different floor covering heights.

Ramp Bars are also known as ‘wood to smooth’ or ‘reducer profiles’, all these types of profiles are classed as Moulding.

What is a T-Bar?

T- Bars are a threshold strip that is installed at the bottom of the doorway (aka doorsill) which provides a smooth and clean transition from two smooth surfaces of the same height. Due to the actual ‘T’ shaped profile, they are called T-Bars, all these types of profiles are classed as Mouldings. All our T-Bars are made solid hardwood and can be used on wood, concrete and carpeted flooring available in Oak, Stained-Oak, Walnut, Maple, Beech, Cherry, Ash, Iroko and Merbau in differing dimensions.

What is a Wood to Carpet Bar?

Wood to Carpet Bar is a threshold strip that is installed at the bottom of the doorway (aka doorsill) which provides a smooth and clean transition from the wood surface to a carpet floor coverings of two different floor covering heights. Wood to Carpet Bars are also known as a ‘reducer profile’, all these types of profiles are classed as Mouldings.

What is a Square Edge Profile?

Square Edge Profiles are a threshold strip that is installed at the bottom of the doorway (aka doorsill) or exists which provides a smooth and clean end finish to an installed floor to and exit door or defined clean profile like against a fire hearth. Square Edge Profile is also known as ‘End Profile’ or ‘L-Section’, all these types of profiles are classed as Mouldings.

What is a Stair Nose?

Stair Noses are a profile strip that is installed at the edge of a step that is clad in hardwood flooring which provides a smooth and clean edge of the step. Stair Noses are also known as ‘Nosings’, all these types of profiles are classed as Mouldings.

What is Scotia?

Scotia is a finishing strip that is installed at the edge of an installed floor where it meets an upright surface like skirting

The general use of scotia is applied to cover the expansion gap that is left between the hardwood floor and the skirting/upright surface.Scotia is also known as ‘Beading’, all these types of profiles are classed as Mouldings, there is also a variant known as Quadrant which is convexed in shape as opposed standard Scotia which is concaved.

What is a Flat Bead?

Flat Bead is a finishing strip that is installed at the edge of an installed floor where it meets an upright surface like skirting
